Yes, Virginia, there is an Exquisite Corpse

We recently received an email from a big fan, asking if DeepMachines.com was once home to the Exquisite Corpse game that he and his brother played for hours on top of hours some years ago. Our big fan writes, “I have been checking the URL over the last…. I don’t know HOW long to see if [the game] would one day come back. Am I nuts?” No, you are not nuts. The Exquisite Corpse was once here and will soon return.
For the unfamiliar, the collaborative surrealist game known as Exquisite Corpse is inspired by the children’s books in which pages are cut into thirds with the top third showing a head, the middle third a torso and… well you get the idea. However, there’s no mixing of mismatched body parts in our digital adaptation of this parlor game. Rather, each of three players creates his or her part as an original artwork, and play progresses to the next player (who can see only the connecting points of the previous sketch) to add to the drawing, until the piecemeal “corpse” is revealed as a whole.
A while back, we gave our corpse a needed rest, so we could make some upgrades in line with current interweb technologies. We are pleased to announce that the Exquisite Corpse will be resurrected soon, new and improved and better than our big fans remember.
