the battle resumes

bbBetaThumb.jpg

That’s right. Big Battle is back. In an effort to bring it back sooner, we have posted it without registration. Enter any username to login, and all players are treated like guests, so no records are being saved yet.

Planned additions include: registration, ratings and records, leaderboard, new pieces, new boards, turn-timer, possibly new game features (obstacles on the board?)

  1. decent. too focused on form not function, gameplay used to be a lot smoother/ quicker which is what made it addictive. Now its all designed up but board is smaller which kind of defeats the point…like putting a smaller engine in a bmw to put in better speakers. Now it looks cool but plays less cool.

  4. In fact, the board and pieces are exactly the same size as they were in the previous version of the game. The board background is cropped a little, but we are using all of the same assets at the same scale. The animations are all exactly the same too, if anything, it should be playing faster, what with the newer version of the Flash Player plugin.

  10. Is there any difference between the sets of pieces? And, although the rules are obvious after few games, it would not be bad to mention them.
    Great fun nevertheless :)

  11. I love the game but I don’t like the new interface. We should have some text boxes to chat in the lobby and in the game. Please skip some unnecessary flashes to make this game faster even though they are cool. Should we allow players to watch each other’s games? I am not sure about this feature but it may have some negative effects… At least, keep all the features from the old version.
Anyway, thanks for making this game for us.

  14. Glad the game is back - but what improvements were made in the last year??? Still an excellent game overall even though the creators couldn’t fix the bugs during the whole year they spent working on it (which I thought was the purpose of the delay). I also wish the game creators would have thought of talking to some of the regular players to get feedback. Rating system doesn’t work as cheating is too easy. Oh well.

  15. Hello DeepMachines,

Have you thought of using XNA API to make this an arcade game for Xbox 360? That WOULD be awesome!
